Is The VOLT electric?

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: The VOLT electric bike is classified as a 'Pedalec' (pedal assist bicycle), a type of electric bike that relies on pedal input to electrically assist its rider. The VOLT is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor, supplied by its centrally mounted, hidden battery. 

What is the top speed?

Short answer: 25km/h (limited)

Long answer: To abide by strict Australian regulations and to protect you, The VOLT's top speed has been electronically limited to 25km/h. Although higher speeds can be reached by pedaling or going down-hill. The top speed cannot be changed by us or any third parties. 

Is there a throttle option?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Current Australian regulations do not allow throttle electric bikes. due to legal reasons, we cannot supply any modifications or supply any throttle conversions until the laws change. Having a throttle electric bike means you're risking fines and vehicle confiscations.

Can I fit The VOLT in my car?

Short answer: Yes. 

Long answer: You can fit 2 VOLT Mate ebikes, in it's folded state in a compact vehicle (VW Golf, Hyundai i30 etc.) You can fit up to 4 in larger SUVs. The VOLT Mate's folding design is ergonomic and purposefully space saving. 

Does The VOLT come assembled?

Short answer:  Yes.

Long answer: The VOLT Mate comes assembled in it's delivery box. Simply mount the pedals, insert the battery and the ebike is ready to ride. We recommend familiarizing yourself with the VOLT Mate operating manual prior to riding. 

What's the maximum weight?

Short answer: 130kg

Long answer: Our recommended range is 130kg, however the alloy frame of the E-Bike has been stress tested to much higher forces. Please note that the warranty will not apply if the bike is used outside of its recommended parameters. 

Are there different sizes?

Short answer: No. 

Long answer: The VOLT is a one-size-fits-all electric bike. Seat post and handlebars can be adjusted in multiple angles to fit the rider's personal dimensions. Therefore, different sizes are not necessary. 

Are there gears? Why not?

Short answer: No, because it's not needed and hard to maintain. 

Long answer: When designing the VOLT, we decided to leave out gears. Why? Because the bike's powerful rear-mounted motors are capable of driving up steep hills without the assistance of gears. The absence of gears do not affect the VOLT e-bike's abilities to go anywhere. In fact, it means less complex moving components, making the electric vehicle easier to maintain and more reliable over time. 

Where is it made?

Short answer: Shipped from Hong Kong, Assembled in the P.R.C

Long answer: We have established our own factory near Hong Kong, an internationally renowned port city and the gateway to South East Asia. We use imported, domestic and in-house manufactured components to assemble what we think is the best electric bike ever.

Do you make custom e-bikes?

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: We love a challenge. We have and will take custom orders for businesses or personalized VOLT electric bikes for the tech savvy client. Make a custom enquiry via our Contact Us form and we will give you a personalized quote.

How long does The VOLT take to ship?

Short answer: 2-4 business days

Long answer: Sometimes you may even receive your bike on the same day! Shipping time is dependent on where you live relative to our HQ in Brisbane, Australia. For general reference, Metropolitan Sydney's shipping time is guaranteed 2 business days. Yes, our couriers are fast!

Is express shipping free?

Short answer: Yes!

Long answer: Express shipping is a 100% free option available to customers in Australia, covering all major and most regional areas. Eligibility criteria may apply for Tasmania. Terms and conditions apply, read our shipping policy for detailed information.

What if I change my mind?

Short answer: Return it within 14 days

Long answer: Take advantage of our unconditional 14 day return policy should you have a sudden change of mind about your VOLT electric bike. Please read our returns policy for more information. Terms and conditions and fees may apply. 

How do warranty repairs work?

Short answer: We will supply parts or a full vehicle replacement. 

Long answer: The VOLT citybike is designed with flexible modular components that are easy to replace whether with a little bit of DIY or by a local professional. VOLT parts are reliable and shouldn't fail, however under warranty we will guarantee replacement parts for minor faults and the option of a vehicle replacement for major faults. Is your customer support 24/7?

Short answer: Yes. 

Long answer: 24/7 customer support is only available on VOLT Bikes Australia social media channels (FB @VOLTAUSTRALIA IG @RIDE.VOLT) and excludes public holidays and exceptional circumstances. E-mail and phone support is only available during business hours on business days.

Are you Australian owned?

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: VOLT Oceania and all of its subsidiaries are all wholly Australian owned and operated. We are based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and we operate independently to our suppliers and partners. 

How long have you been around?

Short answer: a good while

Long answer: The idea of a revolutionary foldable e-bike has been around since early 2015. We regard that as the 'birth of VOLT'. Since then, VOLT's founders have been working hard to perfect and introduce the VOLT, as well as disrupting the Australian electric bike market.
